Bicycles are an important part of Vassar College. Led by Director of Sustainability Cora Kenfield, Vassar students conducted a GIS project on the bicycle racks on campus to evaluate if the current infrastructure is able to support the bike community. The original map, “Bike Racks and Theft at Vassar College,” and data collection were conducted by Charles Hoogkirk in 2018 fall. Recently, Sustainability Intern Danielle Recco 24’ made the interactive map using updated census data showing the relation of the number of bike racks and the number of bikes in each location. This attached ArcGIS Online map encourages users to click to see the specific data at each spot. Come and check it out!
